As a flourishing ecosystem for smallmouth bass the Mactaqauc headpond is a long and broad paradise for smallmouth bass. Kept locked by several series of dams, these fish have been flourishing in the environment created by the deep flooded banks of the former river valley.

A fertile marsh land full of large birds of prey, the silt laden banks of the Kennebecasis river offer quality smallmouth bass fishing. These tidally influenced bass inhabit water shared by large striped bass, pickerel and sturgeon among a litany of other species and makes a great area for a varied day of angling.
